< < Back to a-towns-motown-review-set-for-april-21-at-dairy-barnCome let your hair down with us at A-Town’s Motown Review this Saturday at the Dairy Barn Arts Center! The event will feature Otis Crockron & Co. along with various events such as dress-up, karaoke, DJ Diddy, dancing, soul food by Adam’s Rib and a cash bar.
Sponsored by the Ohio University Multicultural Center, the first 50 guests to arrive dressed in Motown attire will receive 50 percent off the $20 ticket price. Doors open at 6 p.m., with music by Otis and Band at 7:15 p.m. Various activities and contests will fill an hour between 8:15 and 9:15p.m., when the band retakes the stage.
“A-Town’s Motown Review is a collaboration with the Multicultural Center and the Barn, which is sometimes perceived, rightly or wrongly, depending on your point of view, as exclusive, stodgy, remote or in need of ‘disruption,” Kropf said. “The board of the Barn is making a conscious and deliberate attempt to reach out to all populations in Athens to make them feel welcome and to utilize this great new facility which is, after all, a community resource.”
Tickets are $20 and are available at the door or online at dairybarn.org. They also can be purchased at Gigi’s & Piggy Wiggly in The Plains.
