Sponsored by the Women’s Initiative Network and the Muskingum County Library System the October 11th program will begin at 6:30 pm at the John McIntire Auditorium in downtown Zanesville, and will feature Annie Warmke sharing Stories of a Woman Who Learned to Thrive – Growing through and beyond the #MeToo Experiences. Warmke will share 10 key things she learned as she went from a battered homeless rural farm wife hiding in a shelter to traveling the world to rally and organize women that were abused and battered. This event is being held as part of National Domestic Violence Month 2018. Local groups will be on hand to share information about different ways to thrive. Annie Warmke calls herself a “bodacious woman” but she hasn’t always felt that way. Her story starts with the early days of pioneering the battered women’s movement, and learning how to move past her personal experiences to a life of thriving. Her journey to find the ability to thrive led her on an adventure of a lifetime.

Annie Warmke owns and operates Blue Rock Station LLC, Ohio’s premier sustainability center. She is a graduate of Ohio University, and serves on the board of several regional organizations including the Women’s Initiative Network, Women Grown Ohio, the Chesterhill Produce Auction, the USDA Farm Service Agency, and the International Women’s Peacepower Foundation. Along with her husband Jay Warmke she has lived in various parts of the world, written several books, and developed Blue Rock Station, a farm rooted in sustainable living practices.
