Deputy State Fire Marshal Jason Baltic told The Parkersburg News and Sentinel that 58-year-old Robert Taylor and his wife, 52-year-old Charolette Taylor, died after being transported from their Davisville home to a hospital.
Fire officials say a 6-year-old girl who was injured in the blaze remains hospitalized. Another female juvenile at the home wasn’t injured.
The fire marshal’s office has said the fire was intentionally set and a female juvenile was taken into custody. The statement says the investigation is ongoing, and charges will be determined later.
Baltic and Wood County Prosecutor Pat Lefebure declined to say whether the uninjured juvenile was the same individual who was taken into custody.
