Arrest Numbers Released For Halloween Block Party
< < Back to arrest-numbers-released-for-halloween-block-partyATHENS, Ohio — Six people were arrested Saturday during the annual Halloween Block Party in Athens, according to the city.
The Athens Police Department arrested four people Saturday night and the Ohio University Police Department arrested two, all charges were alcohol related.
The Ohio Department of Public Safety Investigative Unit arrest numbers have not been made available, yet.
Athens County Emergency Medical Services responded to seven calls, which resulted in five trips transports to O’Bleness Memorial Hospital.
The Athens Fire Department had five, unspecified calls for service.

Ron Lucas, Deputy Service-Safety Director and Public Information Officer for Athens, wrote in a press release that the city approached Halloween differently this year by hiring Brandon Thompson to coordinate the event and focusing on “entertainment for the entire community.” Family-friendly activities were held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Block Party ended close to 11:25 p.m. Street crews began cleaning up the streets shortly after pedestrians moved from the streets onto sidewalks.
