Harvest Moon Benefit Concert for Appalachian Peace & Justice Network

$5 – $20Athens based band Amethystone is hosting a benefit concert with all proceeds going to the Appalachian Peace and Justice Network (APJN). APJN provides free evidence-based trainings at local schools and community organizations to help prevent bullying, sexual assault and violence. The evening will include musical performances by Steve Zarate, Megan Bee, Walk the Ridge and Amethystone as well as the Athens Social Justice Choir the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Athens Choir and there will also be a special Celebrity Karaoke for Peace and Justice performance.
Audience and community members will have the opportunity to “vote” for the celebrity of their choice by making a donation to APJN. The four celebrity contestants are Chris Chmiel, Katherine Jellison, Debbie Phillips and Chris Riddle. The celebrity with the most “votes” will perform a karaoke song of their choosing at approximately 9:00 pm at the concert on 11/22/19. This will also be live streamed on Facebook for those who cannot attend but want to see their celebrity of choice perform. Community members can “vote” at the Farmer’s Market on 11/16/19 at the APJN table, at the event or online through Go Fund Me at https://www.gofundme.com/f/celebrity-performances-for-peace-and-justice. For individuals voting online make sure to include which celebrity you are voting for in the comment section.
