School Bus Crash in Perry County
< < Back to school-bus-crash-in-perry-countyTHORNVILLE, Ohio (WOUB) – The State Highway Patrol says a school bus and another vehicle have crashed in Ohio and at least eight children and the bus driver were transported to a hospital.
In a news release, troopers say 42-year-old Joseph Thornton failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of State Route 13 and State Route 204 in Perry County. Thornton’s vehicle was hit by the Northern Local School District bus, driven by 74-year-old Danny Hupp.
The Patrol says none of the injuries to the children or the bus driver were considered life-threatening. They were all taken to Licking Memorial Hospital. Thornton was taken to Mt. Carmel East with serious injuries.
The patrol says there were more than two dozen children on the Northern Local School District bus when the crash occurred.
