David L. Harris to Bring Musical Honesty and Expression to Stuart’s Feb. 27
< < Back to ?p=249629On Thursday, February 27 at 7 p.m., acclaimed New Orleans-based trombonist, composer, actor, clinician and Antoine Courtois performing artist David L. Harris will perform at Stuart’s Opera House as a part of their Other Voices Program. The program features community gatherings brought together by live music, daytime workshops for regional public school students, and potluck dinners. The potluck dinner for this event will start at 5:30 p.m. in Stuart’s Grand Lobby, and will be followed by a performance by Harris.
The day before the show, Harris will be leading a workshop entitled “Singing And Playing The Blues” for Nelsonville-York Middle and High School Bands.
WOUB spoke to Harris about his forthcoming full-length, More Than Love, to Be a Man (which drops May 1, but is available for pre-sale at this link, and copies of the album will be on hand for purchase at the Feb. 27 show) the importance of musical honesty, and coming to Stuart’s Opera House.
