Victims Identified In Morgan County Double Homicide
< < Back to victims-identified-in-morgan-county-double-homicideMcCONNELSVILLE, Ohio (WOUB) – Two campers whose bodies were found in the woods in Morgan County in a suspected double homicide have been identified.
The victims are 36-year-old Steven Sturgill Jr. and 39-year-old Crystal Dawn Burchett, both residents of Circleville. Preliminary autopsies conducted by the Licking County Coroner’s Office found that the two suffered gunshot wounds.
Brian Weimert, 43, whose last known address is in Shelby County in western Ohio, was arrested Tuesday morning in connection with their deaths. He was charged Wednesday in Morgan County Court with two counts of aggravated murder. His bond was set at $1 million and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for Aug. 2. However a grand jury could issue an indictment before then that would send the case to the Morgan County Court of Common Pleas.
The bodies of the two victims were found early Tuesday morning in the wooded area surrounding the equine camp in the Appalachian Hills Wildlife Area.
