Bellaire rallies behind teammate to take down Cambridge

This was an emotional game because one of the senior boys, Isaac Salva, from Bellaire was diagnosed with leukemia last week. The Big Reds repaid their teammate with a 25-14 win. Cambridge came out strong in the first half getting the first touchdown and field goal of the game.
Bellaire responded with two touchdowns of their own but missed the first field goal and could not produce the 2-point conversion.
In the second half Cambridge didn’t have the same intensity,only getting a single touchdown and field goal. This was the opposite when it came to Bellaire, who came out and capitalized on an interception getting the touchdown and later in the 3rd quarter they got a crucial field goal to bring them to 25.
Jake Heatherington had quite the game with 87 passing yards and 1 touchdown, while his counterpart from Cambridge had 167 passing yards and two touchdowns.
Bellaire’s strength tonight though was their ability to rush, combining they had 279 rushing yards. Overall, the game was electric.Bellaire clinched its first conference win with their record now set at 2-3 overall. This loss brings Cambridge to a record of 0-1 in conference and a 3-2 record overall.
