The gathering begins with a presentation lead by Jamie Weaver , licensed midwife and co-founder of Uma Shungo Foundation in Ecuador. Then to follow, there will be food served , a dance class led by Ashley Joy , and music to enjoy! Uma Shungo is a non profit and midwifery center located in Quito Ecuador. This family resource center aims to create community, improve maternal and infant health outcomes, and celebrate Ecuador’s unique cultures and birth traditions. All midwifery services are donation based so all women and their families regardless of socioeconomic status are supported throughout their fertile years, pregnancy, post partum, and menopausal wise woman years. This center offers Ecuadorian families : childbirth education classes, sex education, yoga , prenatal care and nutrition courses, post partum/lactation support, along with baby check up visits.
