Tri-Valley Scotties stay undefeated with victory over Sheridan Generals
< < Back toMUSKINGUM, OHIO (WOUB) – The undefeated Tri-Valley Scotties hosted the 6-2 Sheridan Generals in a huge conference game. Tri-Valley dominated Sheridan with a 21-9 win.
Going into this game, Tri-Valley (8-0) was feeling hot after a 43-12 win against Meadowbrook, thus keeping their flawless record alive. Sheridan (6-2) recently lost to Licking Valley 30-7. This game would be the true test for Sheridan to see how they compare to the top team in the MVL.
To start the game, Tri-Valley would kick off to Sheridan. Unfortunately, the Generals would go their first drive scoreless after a series of failed pass attempts and flags. On third down for Sheridan, head coach Paul Culver would call a timeout on 3rd and eight at their own 49-yard line. On the very next play, Generals quarterback Tyce Whiteman threw a pick to the Scotties defense.
Tri-Valley’s first drive of the game began at mid field. This would give them the perfect opportunity to gain a lead early, and that’s exactly what they did. Senior quarterback Max Lyall has led this team all year. The Scotties start their drive with a pass play to move them up to the 34 yard-line. With eight minutes left in the first, Lyall would throw a 16-yard touchdown pass to senior receiver Keaton Hahn. Just like that, the Scotties took the lead just midway through the first quarter.
The Keaton Hahn train wouldn’t stop. Hahn would go on to make important plays on offense and Defense. For Tyce Whiteman and the Generals, they would only make a field goal and a late touchdown in the fourth quarter. The Scotties played a dominant game in all aspects, finishing 21-9 and extending their win streak to 9-0.
