Silent Film/Organ Concert
The Southeast Ohio History Center is thrilled to welcome renown organist Dennis James on Saturday, November 2nd and 3rd for this double-feature program. The first performance will be a live dramatization of an episode from the 1940s radio show, Inner Sanctum Mysteries, performed by the Athens Moveable Theater. After an intermission, Dennis James will accompany the 1924 silent film, Sherlock Jr. There will be a special appearance of Felix the Cat at this event at the Southeast Ohio History Center at 24 West State Street in Athens..
Sherlock Jr., an American silent comedy/detective film, starring and directed by Buster Keaton, was selected in 1991 for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.
The Saturday, November 2nd program will be a dinner theater-style event. Attendees can enjoy a delicious buffet dinner and desserts catered by Purple Chopstix. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.
The Sunday, November 3rd program will be Family Night. Popcorn, movie snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase.
Both evenings the doors open at 5:00pm and the show will start at 6:00pm!
