NELSONVILLE, Ohio (WOUB) – The evening set in and the lights strung on the branches of the surrounding trees illuminated a packed crowd as The Deslondes took to the Creekside Stage Friday night at the 2024 Nelsonville Music Festival. The Louisiana-based group offered up a soulful, swampy blend of various genres all merging into a rich nostalgic vibe that people couldn’t help but dance to.

The band’s set featured Riley Downing on vocals and guitar; Howe Pearson on drums; John James Torville on pedal steel and vocals; Sam Doores on guitar and vocals; Dan Cutler on bass; and Lefty the dog on backing vocals.

The Deslondes perform at the 2024 Nelsonville Music Festival as a part of the 2024 Sycamore Sessions.

The Sycamore Sessions are presented by the Nelsonville Music Festival in collaboration with WOUB Public Media and the Ohio University Scripps College of Communication’s School of Media Arts and Studies. The videos are produced by Media Arts and Studies students under the guidance of Director Andie Walla, Host Josh Antonuccio, WOUB Producers Nathan Cain and Emily Votaw, and personnel from Stuart’s Opera House and the Nelsonville Music Festival. All performances took place during the 2024 Nelsonville Music Festival, which is a production of Stuart’s Opera House.
