CARROLL, Ohio (WOUB)–The Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs hosted the Chillicothe Cavaliers in the first game of the season and won, 20-7.

The first quarter started with a strong running game from bulldogs, junior Kyson Cline. After a few big runs, he would end up finding the endzone and putting the bulldogs up 6-0 after the first quarter.

The second quarter saw a very defensive game. After Bulldogs senior Rusty Hutchinson hauled in a 46 yard pass, the Cavaliers ended up getting a much-needed sack on third down pushing the Bulldogs out of field goal range. On the other end, junior Andrew Hamman for the Cavaliers, had completed 6 passes in a row and took a strip sack which led to a big loss. The Cavaliers ran out the clock leading to the score staying 6-0 Bloom-Carroll at the half.

Bloom-Carroll continues to keep rolling in the third quarter. Cline added two more rushing touchdowns, putting his total to 3 touchdowns on the night, with one of them being a massive 52-yard touchdown, making the score 2-0 Bloom-Carroll after the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, we finally saw the Cavaliers find the endzone as junior Tay Harris ran in the QB sneak. It was not enough to make the comeback though as Chillicothe wasn’t able to stop Bloom-Carroll and they ran the clock out to win 20-7.

Bloom-Carroll called Cline’s number numerous times this game as Chillicothe could not find an answer for him. He ended up finding the endzone on 3 different occasions.

Looking ahead, Bloom-Carroll will look to stay undefeated against the Teays Valley Vikings (0-1) next Friday, and Chillicothe will look to turn their season around against the London Red Raiders (1-0) next Friday.
