Sessions @ WOUB: Miss Tess & The Bon Ton Parade
< < Back to sessions-woub-miss-tess-bon-ton-paradeNew York-based roots-swing group Miss Tess & The Bon Ton Parade recently stopped by our studios for the inaugural taping of Sessions at WOUB.
Produced by staff, faculty and students from WOUB and the Ohio University Scripps College of Communication, the series will feature interviews and performances from local and regional bands, as well as national touring musicians.
Inspired by styles of vintage swing, blues, country and folk, Miss Tess has drawn comparisons to artists such as Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Peggy Lee and Chuck Berry.
"She’s a musical chameleon, recalling at various moments Tom Waits’ barfly humor, the cabaret-rock of Beirut, or even the wink-wink wit of early Bette Midler," wrote Holly Hughes of Blogcritics.com.
The group's latest release is Live Across the Mason Dixon Line. Visit www.misstessmusic.com for more information.
