< < Back to nearly-seven-foot-tall-marijuana-plant-found-athens-co-sheriffs-departmentIt's not Christmas time yet, but Athens County Sheriff's Deputies found something the sheriff says looks like a Christmas tree.
Sheriff Pat Kelly says deputies cut down a close to seven foot tall marijuana plant last night.
"It's quite full and bushy. It looks like a Christmas tree," says Kelly.
Kelly says an unknown person called his department last night saying there was marijuana growing behind the Silver Saddle Bar on State Route 550.
Deputies searched the area and spotted the plant growing behind a trailer.
"There is marijuana growing all over this county. Some is for personal use. We understand that. Some is for trafficking. We believe this one was for personal use," says Kelly.
Kelly says the plant equals about 22 grams of marijuana.
No one was arrested or charged.
