Deadline Set For Pastor Accused Of Unlawful Sexual Conduct
< < Back to deadline-set-pastor-accused-unlawful-sexual-conductA Rio Grande pastor accused of sexual assault has until the end of the month to accept a plea bargain, although none has been offered to him.
According to a clerk with the Gallia County Common Pleas Court, David A. Young appeared Monday for a status hearing.
Young, who is still in jail, is charged with 20 counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
A judge gave Young a deadline of December 28 to accept a plea deal, but the county's prosecutor says his office has not offered a plea bargain.
Allegations surfaced in October that Young sexually assaulted one of his female Sunday school students between the ages of 13 and 14 at Simpson United Methodist Church.
The reported misconduct occurred between September 2011 and September of this year, according to Ohio Attorney General's spokeswoman Jill Del Greco.
