Ohio Indoor Track Takes Five Top Ten Finishes On Day One
< < Back to ohio-indoor-track-takes-five-top-ten-finishes-day-oneThe Bobcat women's indoor track and field team snagged five top 10 finishes after the first day of the Golden Flash Gala meet at Kent State. This is a strong finish heading into the second day of events where they hope to do even better.
Leading off the day was the women's weight throw and Sophomore Janiece Rose captured the tenth spot with a distance of 15.37m. In another field event Senior Alexis Geiger finished sixth in the long jump with a distance of 5.34m.
The 'Cats also were well represented in the unseeded women's pole vault event. Junior Miranda Richardson finished fourth as she cleared a height of 2.90m on her first attempt. Following right behind her while clearing the same height but on her second attempt was Sophomore Rachel Arnott in fifth place.
In the final event of the day Senior Ashley Waddington finished in sixth place in the 5000 meter run with a time of 18:29.32.
The meet will resume for the Bobcat women on Saturday with the high jump at 11:00 and will close with the 4×400 meter relay at 6:20
