Investigation Being Conducted In Inmate Death

Sheriff Jeff Lawless says 23-year-old Steven Conley, of Kitts Hill, died at St. Mary's Hospital after complaining of an illness Saturday morning.
The Lawrence County coroner sent Conley's body to Franklin County for the autopsy.
Lawrence County Coroner Kurt Hofmann said he expected the autopsy to be conducted Monday.
Lawless requested an independent investigation by the Buckeye State Sheriff's Association.
Jail officials in Lawrence County are investigating the death of an inmate over the weekend.
Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless said the male inmate was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital after complaining of an illness Saturday morning.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Lawless said foul play is not suspected but requested an investigation by the Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association.
