Trimble Schools Levy, If Passed, To Improve Building Safety
< < Back to ?p=8930The Trimble Local School Board passed a second resolution on Thursday stating its intent to place a 5-mill permanent improvement levy on the ballot for a second time.
As long as the board files paperwork with the Athens County Board of Elections before the Feb. 6 deadline, the levy will be placed on the ballot for a special election in May.
Superintendent Kim Jones said that the passage of the levy is crucial to ensure that school buildings remain safe for students.
"We need to maintain these buildings. They're aging, and we need to keep them in good repair so that they're habitable for children," Jones said.
If passed, the levy will generate $190,478 per year to help keep school buildings safe.
