Craigslist Murder Trial Underway
< < Back to ?p=9754The prosecution has outlined motives of robbery and identity theft in Ohio attacks two years ago that left three men dead and a fourth wounded, all lured by phony Craigslist job offers.
The alleged triggerman, 53-year-old Richard Beasley, who has back problems, slumped in his wheelchair and didn't turn to look as a prosecutor detailed evidence against him in an Akron court on Monday.
Beasley's attorney, James Burdon, told the jury there isn't enough evidence to prove his client committed the crimes.
He says the defense will try to show a survivor attacked Beasley first, not the other way around.
Beasley could face the death penalty if convicted of murder.
His teenage co-defendant has been convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
