The Ohio women's golf teed off Tuesday against Bowling Green State University in the annual Spring Challenge Cup where the ladies are down 3.5-2.5 after one day of play.

The Bobcats opened play with a tie in the first match, and then lost the next two to go into the afternoon play down 2.5-.5. They came out strong in the afternoon winning the first two matches, but dropped the final match to end the day down one. The Bobcats need to win four of the final six matches on Wednesday to beat the Falcons or they’ll suffer loss to Bowling Green again after dropping last year's match as well.

This tournament is different from others, as they are forced to work more as a team and less as individuals. They need to rely on each other to win matches and the whole tournament overall. This being the first competition for the ladies since last year shows that the team was a little rough around the edges, as they missed some opportunities that otherwise would have been capitalized on.

The two teams will face off again Wednesday to finish the two-day tournament.
