Another way to enjoy the wintry weather is to come to our 16th annual Groundhog Hike at Strouds Run State Park. Mark your calendars for Sunday, 03 February, 2019. The hike will start from the Bobcat Shelter (Shelterhouse 2) by the boat ramp at Dow Lake. The starting window is noon to 1 pm. This is a self-guided hike but some guided options will be available. It is sponsored jointly by the Athens Conservancy and the Friends of Strouds Run State Park. Free refreshments will be provided, as will free trail maps. Options for length of hike are 3.2, 4.8, and 6.25 miles. There will be shorter, kid-friendly hikes at 12:15 and 12:45 pm.

Hikers will be off the trail in plenty of time to prepare for the Superbowl! And you can work off those extra calories before noshing out in front of the tube!
