Archaeology Day

The Ross County Historical Society, in conjunction with the Mound City Group of the Archaeological Society of Ohio (ASO) and Hopewell Culture National Historical Park, will host its 7th annual Archaeology Day event on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 10am to 2pm, featuring more than 20 table top exhibits with a wide range of prehistoric artifacts, fossils, and rocks collected by the Mound City Group of the ASO.
Many items from the Historical Society’s collections which are not currently on display will be exhibited – including mammoth and mastodon teeth, geodes, fossils, minerals, and a variety of locally-found prehistoric artifacts.
