ATHENS, OH – All children ages one to 16 are welcome to Bill Schoonover’s 25^th Annual Children’s Fishing Tournament Sunday, June 5, from 8:30 a.m. until noon at Lake Snowden, off route 50/32 in Albany (the Meadows Shelter House). Registration will be 8:30-10:30 only and fishing from 10-noon. The tournament is free. A cookout and fishing bait will be provided. Parents are encouraged to bring their children, a pole, a chair, and have some fun!

Children must be registered by 10:30 a.m. and wear their wristband at all times to win prizes. Trophies and prizes will be awarded after the cookout at noon. Bikes and fishing poles will be given away to the children while supplies last.

William “Bill” Schoonover was an avid fisherman, hunter, and harness racing fan. He started the tournament for area youth and charity, and to expose children to the love of outdoors. His family and friends carry on the tradition in his memory.
