The Green Sanctuary committee of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Marietta will be
sponsoring an old-fashioned square and contra dance on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 7:30 to
10:00. Funds raised during this event will go toward the Sustainability Workshop being
planned for February, as well as other projects that support renewable energy use in the Mid-
Ohio Valley. Chris Jacobs will be calling the squares and Dawn Hewett will be calling the
contras.
“Everyone is welcome, you do not need to know how to square or contra dance, ” says Jacobs.
“We will teach anyone to dance and you don’t need a partner”

The dance will be held at Ballantyne’s barn at 841 Greene St, Newport, OH. The cost
will be $10 for adults and $5 for students. Snacks and family-friendly beverages are
