Food Regulations & Shared-Use Kitchens (Whole Farm Series)

Have you ever wanted to start your own line of hot sauce, pickles or salsa? Are you a food entrepreneur or small farm looking to expand to value-added food production? This presentation will provide an in-depth discussion of food processing regulations, how to access shared-use kitchens and processing facilities, and who the regulatory authorities are in our region.
Adam Kody, ACEnet’s Food Enterprise Coordinator, will discuss food regulations by product and how to access shared-use kitchens and state-inspected processing facilities. He’ll also cover ACEnet’s shared-use facilities available to rent, the Food Ventures Center in Athens, Ohio and the Food and Farm Enterprise Center in Nelsonville, Ohio. ACEnet’s food incubator hubs include an ODA-licensed and inspected meat processing facility, produce processing facility, thermal processing equipment, dry packaging room, shared-use commercial kitchen space, and walk-in coolers and freezers.
