Greater Huntington Symphonic Band Ironton patriotic concert

The Greater Huntington Symphonic Band will perform their annual free patriotic concert on Tuesday, June 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ironton Farmers Market 2nd St. pavilion. The jazz band, which consists of symphonic band members, will open the performance followed by the symphonic band. Their performance is part of the annual Tuesday night summer concert series jointly sponsored by the Ironton Council for the Arts, Ironton Alive, and several local businesses and non-profit organizations.

Season tickets for the upcoming Ironton Council for the Arts 2026-27 six-concert performance series which begins in October will be available for $50 payable by cash, card or check. The performance will be moved to the Ironton High School auditorium in case of inclement weather.

The jazz band is directed by Mr. Tom Chaffin and will open the concert with The Star-Spangled Banner, followed by Armed Forces Medley; American Songbook (America the Beautiful, Yankee Doodle Dandy, Battle Cry of Freedom, Shenandoah, and Stars and Stripes Forever); Satin Doll; How High the Moon; Jersey Bounce and Blue Bossa. The symphonic band, under the direction of Mr. Matt Chaffins, will feature Captain America March; Hymn to the Fallen; The Liberty Bell; As All the Heavens Were A Bell; This Is My Country; Lincoln At Gettysburg; National Emblem; God of Our Fathers and The Stars and Stripes Forever.
