Hands-on Hanji workshop using 줌치 (Joomchi) technique with Ms. Aimee Lee
Renowned artist and papermaking advocate Aimee Lee will lead a hands-on Hanji workshop using the traditional Korean Joomchi technique on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Ohio University’s Kennedy Museum in Athens. Lee, an Ohio Arts Council Heritage Fellow and author of Hanji Unfurled, is recognized internationally for her work, which is held in collections at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art.
This workshop offers participants the opportunity to learn directly from a master of the Korean papermaking tradition. The event is part of the Friends of Korea annual meeting activities and is open to students, artists, and community members interested in Korean culture. A $10 materials fee applies, and advance registration is encouraged.
