Learn About the League of Women Voters!

New & Prospective Member Social on Saturday, June 22 from 10:30am – 12:00 pm. Attendees will learn about the local, state, and national league and how to get involved in protecting Democracy by putting their skills and interests to work locally. League membership is open to anyone at least 16 years old.

The gathering will take place at West State Street Park in the shelter house on the cul-de-sac. The parking is plentiful and light refreshments will be served.

The Athens League works on many initiatives including voter registration and education, candidate forums, voter guides, and our diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. We also host public and member-only events exploring current issues.

The formal program will begin at 11:00 and end at 11:20, but those interested are encouraged to stop by at any point that is convenient in their busy Saturday morning.

The LWVAC is a nonpartisan, grassroots nonprofit dedicated to empowering everyone to fully participate in our democracy. The league works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
