Hugh Ryan, historian and author of the recent book The Women’s House of Detention: A Queer History of a Forgotten Prison, will do a talk and readings from the book followed by Q&A. The author will be giving the talk live from Brooklyn. This is an online event, with in-person participation: Lavender Menace will co-host an in-person gathering to watch the talk and cohost the Q&A from Baker University Center Conference Room 226, with the speaker on TEAMS. The live event will have ASL interpretation and autocaptions. This event will be recorded for asynchronous participation; a corrected transcript and video will be uploaded to LGBT Center YouTube page no sooner than two weeks after the event for asynchronous participants. Sponsored by the LGBT Center, Lavender Menace, and the Women’s Center. For accessibility questions contact doherty@ohio.edu. Register by 4pm on 10/27/22 for the event link at https://bit.ly/LGBTQIAhistory or find the event video in a few weeks at the Ohio University LGBT Center YouTube channel.
