Lyceum Luncheon Speaker Series – The Atlatl: The World’s Ancient Hunting Tool
The Southeast Ohio History Center Lyceum Speaker Series presents The Atlatl: The World’s Ancient Hunting Tool by Steve Barnett and Ray Strischek, Southeast Ohio members of the Ohio Atlatl Association. Barnett and Strischek will present the story of how the prehistoric spear-throwing tool provided early hunters with greater power and range and accuracy for use in survival than when throwing a spear by hand alone.
The Lycheon Luncheon Speaker Series is a monthly lunchtime opportunity to learn a bit about the rich local history of this region where Ohio began. The brown bag luncheon program is scheduled for Thursday, March 20 at 12 p.m. at the History Center at 24 West State Street in Athens. The Lyceum Luncheon Speaker Series is generally scheduled for the third Thursdays of the month with exceptions for holidays.
