Ohio Valley Summer Theater presents Pippin, winner of 1973 Tonys in its Broadway premiere, and 2013 Tonys in its Broadway revival. It’s a familiar story to Athenians: A young man (King Charlemagne’s son) graduates from college and doesn’t know what to do with his life. Athens’ production blends the two Broadway shows with Athens’ own uniqueness, combining the 1973 Fosse-type choreography with the 2013 circus-type scenic and artistic design, complete with Passion Works puppets, fabulous choreography by a talented OU undergraduate, and performances by all those local people you can’t wait to see act, sing, and dance again.

Performances are Aug. 2-4 at 7:30 p.m. and Sun., Aug. 5 at 2 p.m.. Also Aug. 9-11 at 7:30 p.m. Final performance is Sun., Aug. 12 at 2 p.m. at the Forum Theater in the RTV building on the OU campus. ADA and wheelchair access is available; please call Carol at (740) 541-3728 to make arrangements.
