Passport to the Outdoors

Join Rural Action and other local partners from 1 to 5 pm on May 6th, one of Ohio’s Free Fishing Days, for a fun-filled afternoon of outdoor family adventure at the Burr Oak State Park Beach! Come get your “Passport to the Outdoors” and enjoy activities like canoeing, archery, nature crafts, and stream exploration. You’ll be able to learn about and get up close and personal with some aquatic critters and even see a fish shocking demonstration conducted by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

The main event will be a Passport to Fishing workshop where children 15 and under can learn fishing skills. We’ll supply the fishing gear!

Free food and refreshments will be available.

Cost is $5 per person and free for kids 15 and under

 

1:00 pm 1:45 pm: Registration

1:00pm- 2:30 pm: Activity stations

1:45 pm – 2:30 pm: Fish shocking demonstration

2:45 pm – 4:15 pm: Passport to Fishing workshop

4:15 pm – 5:00 pm: Hand in “Passports” and receive some fishing goodies!
