Biden in Ohio to Talk Overtime
< < Back to biden-in-ohio-to-talk-overtimeVice President Joe Biden will be talking about overtime adjustments for salaried workers in today’s visit to Columbus.
The White House says the vice president will make his remarks while at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream’s headquarters.
Right now, salaried workers making more than $23,660 per year do not have to receive overtime pay for working more than 40 hours per week; starting in December that salary threshold doubles, meaning any salaried employee making less than $47,476 per year is eligible for overtime pay. Hourly workers are generally guaranteed overtime pay after 40 hours.
Biden was last in Ohio in April. He was in the state to headline a fundraiser in Cincinnati for former Gov. Ted Strickland, who is trying to unseat Republican Sen. Rob Portman in November.
Democrats are targeting incumbent Portman in their bid to win back a Senate majority.
