Belmont County Man Pleads Guilty To Sex Charges

A Shadyside man pleaded guilty yesterday to charges of transporting a minor for sex.
According to United States Attorney Carter Stewart, in July 2010, Barry Youst, 55, crossed state lines between Ohio and West Virginia to meet a 15-year-old girl.
Stewart says the mother of the juvenile drove her from Cadiz, Ohio to meet Youst at a truck stop in West Virginia, where he fondled the child and then paid the mother.
The mother of the juvenile, Robin Newell, was also charged with one count of transportation of an individual for purposes of unlawful sexual activity.
Newell was sentenced to three years in prison in June 2011.
Youst is under house arrest until his sentencing at a later date.
He faces up to 10 years in prison, a fine up to $250,000, a term of five years on supervised release and will be required to register as a sex offender.
