Swimming/Diving: Ohio beats Buffalo in home opener
< < Back toOhio hosted MAC competitor Buffalo in its first home meet of the season. The ‘Cats won their third straight and remain undefeated – their best start to a season since 2008, when they started the season 5-0.
Similar to their first meet of the season against Bowling Green, the ‘Cats dominated the top spots in the first five events of the day, giving them an early lead. They kept strong throughout the entire meet until Buffalo made an attempt to close the gap towards the end, falling just short of upsetting the ‘Cats perfect record.
It was another day for the record books, as star swimmer Tori Bagan swam her way to the sixth best 100-meter breaststroke in Ohio history and to the tenth best 200-meter time. Bagan was also part of the 400-meter medley relay team that earned 11 points and first place in the opening event of the day.
Not only did the ‘Cats make their mark in the record books for swimming, but they did in diving as well. Morgan Srail scored 301.28 in six 3-meter dives, which is the third best score in Ohio history.
The green and white are on the road again this coming weekend when they travel to Columbus to take on Ohio State in hopes of adding another “W” to their so-far perfect season.
