Conservation Center Holds Cheetah Naming Contest
< < Back toAn Ohio conservation center is asking fans on social media to help name two cheetah cubs born earlier this year.
A male cub and a female cub were born Oct. 31 at the Wilds in Cumberland, about 70 miles east of Columbus.
The center is accepting pairs of name suggestions online on its Facebook and Twitter pages until Monday. It says staff from the Wilds will narrow the list to five finalists, and the winner will be chosen through voting on a Facebook poll next week.
The cheetah cubs are among more than 50 animals born at the site this year. The new additions also included four southern white rhinos.
The cubs will be among the rare and endangered animals visitors can see next year.
