Athens Surgeon Chosen To Head State Medical Group
< < Back toAn Athens surgeon will serve as the head of the Ohio State Medical Association.
According to a release from OSMA, members voted Dr. Neal Nesbitt president-elect, a position he will assume in April of 2013.
Nesbitt is chief of surgery at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
He was the hospital's chief of staff from 2008 to 2010.
"I look forward to working with my fellow physicians and the entire health care community to ensure high-quality access to medical care while preserving the physician-patient relationships," said Nesbitt.
Nesbitt's term as president of the 20,000-member organization will last one year.
