Former OU Student Pleads Guilty To Arson
< < Back toA former Ohio University student pled guilty Monday to charges that stemmed from an Ohio University dormitory fire that occurred in June.
Nathan Cencula, 21, of St. Clairsville pled guilty to arson at the Athens County Common Pleas Court this morning. He was sentenced to 14 days in jail and four years of community control probation. He was also ordered to pay $46,609.18 in restitution to the university.
On June 3, 2011, Cencula was accused of intentionally igniting a chair on fire at Brough House, a dormitory on OU's Athens campus.
Cencula was charged with aggravated arson, arson and criminal mischief.
While Cencula is still listed in the OU directory as a sophomore, he is no longer enrolled as a student and has been ordered to not have contact with university.
