Prosecutor Wants To Keep Bebb In Columbus Facility
< < Back to prosecutor-wants-keep-bebb-columbus-facilityA five-year-old Athens murder case is still playing out in a local courtroom.
Jonathan Bebb was found not guilty by reason of insanity for killing his father, Phillip Bebb, in 2007.
Jonathan Bebb was committed and is currently a patient at a mental health hospital in Columbus.
Athens County Assistant Prosecutor Rob Driscoll wants to keep him there because it's a maximum security facility.
Driscoll is opposed to efforts to move Bebb to a less security civil hospital in the Cincinnati area
A hearing on the proposed move is tentatively scheduled for April 26 in front of Judge Mike Ward.
A year ago, Ward denied a request to move Bebb to the Appalachian Behavioral Center in Athens.
Bebb's attorney argued unsuccessfully that he would get better care there.
