Accused Chardon Shooter Pleads Not Guilty
< < Back toA 17-year-old boy is pleading not guilty in the shooting deaths of three students at a high school east of Cleveland.
T.J. Lane on Friday made his first court appearance since being indicted earlier this week on three counts of aggravated murder. He's also charged with two counts of attempted aggravated murder and one count of felonious assault.
Lane told the judge he understood the charges and pleaded not guilty to all six counts.
A judge ruled last month that Lane will be tried as an adult in the February shootings at Chardon High School that killed three students and wounded three more. No motive has been established.
Lane could face life in prison if convicted.
Prosecutors say he admitted shooting at a group of students in the school's cafeteria.
