Agencies in Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky tested their preparedness for a terrorism attack or disaster in a multi-state drill Wednesday.

Ten agencies along the Ohio River participated in the drill.

Wood County West Virginia Sheriff Jeff Sandy says the exercise was useful because his county has a number of factors to consider in a disaster or attack, such as the Ohio River, bridges and chemical plants.

"We have such an interesting area, we have the river and we have other infrastructures that many places throughout the country do not have. So, this is looked upon as a very important training exercise because of the items that we have here," says Sheriff Sandy.

The drill used helicopters and the Wood County 911 Mobile Command Unit.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Parkersburg Police Department, Department of Homeland Security and the West Virginia Department of Transportation also took part.
