Hocking Co. Student Admits To Abduction Hoax

The girl claimed the incident happened around 6:20 a.m. near Laurel Run Road.
Hocking County Sheriff Lanny North says that the girl lied about the Monday morning attempted abduction to seek more attention from her parents.
The girl had told officers a man offered her a ride to school and claimed she missed her bus.
She said she refused the ride and went inside to call authorities.
The girl gave officers a description of a suspect and his vehicle. The administration at Logan High School, where the girl attends, sent out notifications to parents warning them of the incident.
No word yet if the girl will face any charges for the hoax.
