Scioto Co. Trial Underway In Body Found In Burned Truck

A trial is underway for one of the three men charged in the murder of a Scioto County man whose body was found inside a burning truck.

Raymond Linkous, 35, of Wheelersburg, is on trial in Scioto County Common Pleas Court for the murder of Felipe Lopez, 24, of Friendship, Ohio.

Lopez's body was found in the burning truck along a rural road in Franklin Furnace on March 7.

Investigators said the truck belonged to Linkous and that Lopez was killed before the truck was set on fire.

The investigators also said that a knife and a hatchet were found in the truck, both are believed to have been used in the murder.

Thomas Steinhauer, 47, of Portsmouth, and David Gerald, 37, of Wheelersburg, are also charged with Lopez's murder.

Their trials are set for later this year.

Linkous is facing two counts of aggravated murder, murder, aggravated arson, arson, tampering with evidence, kidnapping and conspiracy to aggravated murder.
