Wellston Faces Final Tune-Up Against Rock Hill
< < Back toWith one week to spare until TVC-Ohio play, the Wellston Golden Rockets will get their final non-conference tune up this Friday against Division V Rock Hill.
On the surface, visiting Rock Hill (0-4) may seem like the underdog, but a look at its schedule proves the Redmen have had their hands full so far this season. Three of Rock Hill’s four losses have come against undefeated teams in Minford, Lucasville Valley and Oak Hill.
The Redmen have struggled mightily on the offensive end, scoring just 27 total points heading into Friday’s matchup.
Wellston (1-3) shares a pair of mutual opponents with Rock Hill; the Golden Rockets have also dropped games to Minford and Oak Hill.
For Wellston head coach Chris Hutchinson and his squad, success will lie in replicating the offensive output from week three, when Wellston tallied 48 points in a decisive win over South Point. In their three losses, the Golden Rockets have amounted 39 total points.
The Golden Rockets will hope to carry as much momentum as possible into their TVC-Ohio opener against first-place Athens next week.
