The Mid-American Conference announced today that it is launching its largest basketball television package in conference history. A total of 53 men’s and women’s basketball games will be aired live nationally or regionally in the upcoming season.

SportsTime Ohio (STO), the conference’s regional flagship cable broadcast partner, will air 40 games, and ESPN’s family of networks will broadcast 13 games this season.

Ohio Men’s Basketball will have at least four of its conference games televised this season. The Bobcats open regional MAC coverage on STO January 9 at home against Buffalo and take on Akron at home February 27 in a rematch of last year’s MAC Championship Game. Other regionally broadcast games include January 19 at home against Toledo and January 26 at Kent State. In addition to this coverage, the second, third and semifinal rounds of the MAC Tournament will air on STO. The MAC Championship game will air on ESPN2 for the 15th consecutive year.

Ohio's non-conference bout with Memphis will also be televised. The December 5 mathcup will air on the CBS Sports Network.

Ohio women's basketball will have two conference games aired on STO during the 2012-13 season. The two games will come within a week of each other with the first on February 9 when the Bobcats play at defending MAC West Champion Eastern Michigan and the next on February 16 with the 'Cats back in the Convo against Western Michigan. STO will also air the women’s MAC Semifinal and Championship games this season.

Additional games may be added to the schedule with the wildcard option. The men’s MAC teams have 10 potential wildcard games on STO and ESPN’s family of networks while the women's MAC teams have two wildcard windows on STO.
