Ohio Falls at Miami 3-1
< < Back toOhio finished the regular season Saturday with a 3-1 loss at the hands of rival Miami. The Bobcats had bested the RedHawks in each of the schools previous three meeting leading up to Saturday's game.
Senior Laura Mastro jump-started the Bobcats early with her second goal of the season, but it was all RedHawks from there. Miami dominated the rest of the game, specifically the second half.
Defensively, the RedHawks held Ohio to only two shots on goal throughout the course of the second half. In addition, the Bobcats were without a penalty corner for the final 35 minutes of the game.
After Mastro’s goal, Miami regrouped and methodically controlled the tempo of the entire game. 14 shots on goal resulted in three goals for the aggressive RedHawks.
Back-to-back losses for just the second time this season now brings Ohio’s final regular season record to an even 8-8.
The good news for the Bobcats, though, is that another opportunity to defeat Miami is on the horizon. The Bobcats will square off with the RedHawks Friday in the semifinals of the MAC Tournament.
