The Ohio State Highway Patrol says fewer people were killed on Ohio's roads this Thanksgiving holiday period, compared with the past three years.

The patrol says 11 people were killed between 12:00 a.m. Wednesday and the end of the reporting period at 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

Ohio reported 17 people were killed over the same period last year. Eighteen were killed in 2010, and 20 in 2009.

This year's fatalities included four people killed when they were ejected during a single-vehicle crash in southwest Ohio's Warren County. Alcohol is suspected as a factor.

The patrol says none of those killed over this year's holiday period were wearing seatbelts.

The patrol arrested 459 drivers for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the holiday weekend.
