Ohio Women Drop Second Game of New York Road Trip

Ohio kept it close with the Blackbirds early. LIU-Brooklyn helda six-point lead at 15-9 with 12:03 left in the first half. But that was as close as the Bobcats would come.
Ohio scored just 12 points the rest of the half while LIU-Brooklyn more than doubled that output in 12 minutes. At the end of the first half, the score was 40-21 LIU Brooklyn.
Ohio started out the second half on an 8-0 run. The Bobcats would cut the lead to eight on a layup by Shavon Robinson with 4:20 left in the game. But Ohio could not overcome the first-half deficit and lost by nine 63-54.
The Bobcats struggled from the three-point line, only shooting 3-for-24 on the day. They also shot well below their season average from the free throw line with a 50 percent mark from the stripe.
Erin Bales led Ohio in scoring with 19 points, and Lexie Baldwin led the Bobcats in rebounds with 13.
Ohio (4-7) will take on the Xavier Musketeers (5-6) in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Jan. 5.
